Biography

Mr Arnaout was awarded a Master’s Degree in Trauma and Orthopaedic Health Sciences from the University of Warwick, later he achieved fellowship of the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology and then went on to qualify as a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in the speciality of Trauma and Orthopaedics.

Mr Arnaout completed his orthopaedic training in the West Midlands. He has also been awarded an EFORT fellowship in London and an AO trauma fellowship in Switzerland and hip and knee replacement fellowship at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.

Specialties

Mr Arnaout is currently a fellowship training hip and knee replacement surgeon and fellowship training in trauma Surgery, while also performing knee arthroscopy and minor procedures of the hand. Lastly, he is interested and trained in complex joint replacement surgery.

Research

Mr Arnaout has several publications in international peer-reviewed journals and has presented his work at both national and international level at orthopaedic meetings. He has completed and published several orthopaedic research projects and continues to participate in national collaborative research studies. Some of his published work includes a novel method for planning hip replacement operations by performing specific measurements on the X-rays to obtain accurate sizing and position on the implant, with another research project which looked into intra-operative landmark during knee replacement to allow the surgeon to reproduce the patients anatomy and knee mechanics.

Fellowships and/or memberships

Mr Arnaout has an interest in orthopaedic professional educational development and is the Director of Education at the Orthopaedic Academy and the Editor in Chief of the award-winning ‘Concise Orthopaedics’ book. He is also a medico-legal expert, working alongside solicitors to provide reports for patients sustaining personal injuries. Mr Arnaout is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and a faculty member of the Royal College’s Basic Surgical Skills.
